Abdu Rozik Arrested at Dubai Airport Over Alleged Theft—Customs Seize Suspicious Items Worth Thousands
Abdu Rozik arrested by Dubai customs over alleged theft. Authorities seize high-value items as investigation unfolds at Dubai International Airport.
Tajikistani singer, former Bigg Boss contestant, and social media sensation Abdu Rozik was reportedly taken into custody at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning, his management team confirmed to Khaleej Times.

The 21-year-old was allegedly detained by authorities around 5 a.m., shortly after arriving in Dubai from Montenegro.
While the exact details of the complaint remain undisclosed, a representative from Rozik’s team stated, “All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft.”
The team declined to provide any additional details, and Dubai authorities have not yet issued an official statement about the incident.
One of the most recognisable young public figures in the Middle East and South Asia is Abdu Rozik, who gained notoriety for his unusual height—he was only slightly over three feet tall because of a growth hormone deficiency.
Abdu, who was granted the esteemed UAE Golden Visa, has lived in Dubai for a number of years and established a diverse career that includes boxing, entertainment, music, and business.

He first gained attention through his viral musical performances, and his popularity skyrocketed following his participation in Bigg Boss 16, where he won hearts with his charm, humour, and vibrant personality.
Most recently, he appeared in Laughter Chefs: Entertainment Unlimited Season 2, hosted by Bharti Singh, where he was paired with popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav.
In a dramatic and unexpected turn of events, internationally recognized social media star and singer Abdu Rozik was arrested at Dubai International Airport late Wednesday evening on charges related to alleged theft and customs violations. According to multiple sources within airport security and customs departments, authorities detained the 20-year-old Tajik-born influencer after discovering a stash of “undeclared high-value items” in his possession, sparking intense public and media speculation.
The incident reportedly occurred at Terminal 3, where Rozik was preparing to board a private charter flight bound for Europe. Authorities say customs officials flagged irregularities in Rozik’s luggage during a standard screening process. Upon inspection, they allegedly discovered a series of items described as “suspicious luxury goods and rare artifacts” whose total estimated value exceeds USD $50,000.
A customs official, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the ongoing investigation, said, “Several items including expensive designer watches, antique jewelry, and limited-edition electronics were found in his luggage without appropriate declarations. This constitutes a breach of UAE customs law and raised immediate red flags regarding possible smuggling.”
Among the items seized were multiple Rolex watches, Cartier bracelets, gold chains, and a limited-edition diamond-encrusted mobile phone believed to be worth over $15,000. Authorities are also examining whether some of the confiscated items were linked to recent thefts reported in the region, although there has been no official confirmation of this theory.
Dubai Customs has reportedly launched a formal inquiry into the provenance of the seized goods. “The suspect has not provided adequate documentation to explain how or where these items were acquired,” the source added. “Until then, the presumption of smuggling or theft will be applied.”
Following his arrest, Rozik was reportedly held at the airport’s security holding area before being transferred to a local detention center for further questioning. Legal representatives for the singer have since issued a short statement asserting his innocence, claiming the incident was a “major misunderstanding.”
Abdu Rozik rose to fame in 2021 for his viral videos showcasing his singing talents and humorous personality. Standing at just over 3 feet tall due to a rare growth condition known as rickets-induced dwarfism, Rozik quickly became a beloved global figure. He gained additional notoriety through appearances in Indian reality TV shows, high-profile influencer collaborations, and brand endorsements across Asia and the Middle East.
His charm, resilience, and ability to transcend barriers of language and disability made him a frequent guest at celebrity events. Most notably, he was seen attending the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and several Bollywood awards ceremonies. He has over 10 million followers across social media platforms and has been associated with several luxury brands as a brand ambassador.
News of Rozik’s arrest went viral within hours, triggering a wave of reactions online. On Instagram, several of his fans expressed disbelief and offered support, using hashtags like #FreeAbdu and #JusticeForRozik. Others were more critical, accusing the influencer of indulging in a lifestyle far removed from his humble origins.
While Rozik’s legal team quickly mobilized to contain the fallout, the entertainment industry has so far remained largely silent. Neither Bollywood celebrities who have collaborated with Rozik, such as Salman Khan and Mika Singh, nor international influencers close to him have publicly commented on the situation.
Insiders in the UAE entertainment scene suggest that several brands may put a pause on ongoing partnerships until the matter is cleared. “Brands are very careful about their public image,” said a PR executive from a Dubai-based fashion house. “Even an allegation of theft can force a reconsideration of endorsement deals.”
The legal implications for Rozik could be serious. Under UAE Federal Law No. (11) of 2021 concerning customs offenses, smuggling undeclared goods valued above AED 50,000 (approx. USD $13,600) may lead to a fine of up to AED 100,000 and a prison sentence ranging from six months to five years, depending on the severity and intent.

Additionally, if any of the items are proven to be stolen or trafficked, Rozik could face additional criminal charges under UAE penal codes dealing with theft, concealment of stolen property, and misrepresentation during customs inspections.
Legal experts suggest that even if Rozik avoids prison time, a formal conviction or ongoing court proceedings could damage his eligibility to travel freely or obtain future sponsorships in the UAE and abroad.
