Masseuse Assaults Woman in Mumbai’s Wadala: 1 Shocking Midway Treatment Attack Caught on Viral Video
A shocking video shows a masseuse assaulting a woman in Mumbai’s Wadala after she cancelled treatment midway
Mumbai has been rocked by yet another disturbing incident of violence, this time involving a masseuse who allegedly assaulted a woman after she cancelled a treatment session midway at a spa in Wadala. The shocking episode, which was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, has sparked outrage across the city and raised serious concerns about customer safety, service industry conduct, and accountability.
The incident reportedly took place inside a massage and wellness centre located in the Wadala area of central Mumbai. According to police sources, the victim, a working professional in her late 20s, had visited the spa for a routine massage session. What began as a regular appointment soon escalated into a frightening confrontation when she decided to discontinue the treatment halfway through.

As per the victim’s complaint, she felt uncomfortable during the massage session and asked the masseuse to stop the treatment. While the exact reason for her discomfort has not been officially disclosed, sources say she wanted to leave the session early and requested a partial refund.
This request allegedly angered the masseuse, who began arguing with the woman. The verbal altercation soon turned violent. The viral video, which appears to have been recorded by the victim or another person present at the spa, shows the masseuse grabbing the woman by her hair, pushing her, and slapping her multiple times.
In the footage, the victim can be heard crying for help, while other spa staff members appear hesitant and slow to intervene. At one point, a man believed to be associated with the spa is seen trying to pull the masseuse away, but the assault continues for several seconds before it finally stops.
The video quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering widespread condemnation and calls for strict legal action against the accused.
Following the circulation of the video, Mumbai Police took suo motu cognizance of the matter. The victim later approached the local police station and filed a formal complaint.
A senior police officer confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the masseuse under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:
- Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt)
- Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace)
- Section 506 (criminal intimidation)
Police have also booked the spa owner for negligence and failure to ensure customer safety on the premises.
“The accused masseuse has been detained for questioning, and further legal action will follow based on the investigation. We are also examining whether the spa was operating with valid licenses and whether staff had undergone proper background verification,” the officer said.
In her statement to the police, the victim described the ordeal as terrifying and humiliating. She said she had trusted the spa, which had decent online reviews, and never imagined she would be assaulted in a professional establishment.
“I only asked her to stop the massage because I was uncomfortable. She started shouting at me and demanded full payment. When I said I wanted to leave, she suddenly attacked me. I was scared for my life,” the victim reportedly told investigators.
She also said that other staff members initially failed to step in and protect her, which made the situation even more traumatic.
The incident has put the spotlight on Mumbai’s rapidly growing spa and wellness industry, which often operates in a loosely regulated environment.
Consumer rights activists have long warned about the lack of oversight, training standards, and background checks in many small and mid-sized spas across metropolitan cities.
“This case is not just about one rogue masseuse. It reflects systemic issues in the service sector. There must be mandatory licensing, training, and strict customer grievance redressal mechanisms,” said consumer rights advocate Anjali Mehta.
Authorities have reportedly launched an inspection drive in Wadala and nearby areas to check the compliance status of spas and massage centres.https://www.jagranimages.com/images/2026/01/23/article/image/masseuse-attack-on-Woman-1769168573293.

The viral video has triggered massive outrage online. Hashtags related to the incident trended on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram within hours.
Many users expressed shock and anger, calling for the immediate arrest of the accused and the closure of the spa. Several women shared their own uncomfortable experiences at massage parlours, highlighting the need for safer spaces and stricter monitoring.
“Going for a massage should not feel like a life-threatening decision. This is horrifying,” wrote one user.
Others demanded that the spa owner be held equally responsible. “Why did no one stop her? Why were the staff just standing there? This is criminal negligence,” another post read.
Legal experts say the accused masseuse could face serious legal consequences if found guilty.
“Assault in a commercial establishment, especially captured on video, is a strong case. The accused can face imprisonment and fines. The spa owner may also be penalized for negligence and violation of safety norms,” said criminal lawyer Adv. Suresh Patil.
Depending on additional findings, police may also invoke Section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) if there is evidence of inappropriate behavior beyond physical assault.
The incident has reignited debates about women’s safety in service establishments, including spas, salons, gyms, and wellness centers.
Activists argue that while Mumbai is considered one of India’s safer cities for women, incidents like this expose gaps in enforcement and accountability.
“This case is a wake-up call. We need stronger laws and real enforcement. Women should not fear violence in a spa of all places,” said women’s rights activist Kavita Sharma.
Some have also called for panic buttons, CCTV cameras in common areas, and mandatory display of grievance helpline numbers in all spas.
Police are currently verifying the background of the accused masseuse, including her employment history and whether any previous complaints were filed against her.
Initial inquiries suggest she may have been working at the spa for over a year. Investigators are also checking if the spa followed proper hiring protocols.
The accused’s family members have reportedly claimed that she was provoked by the customer’s refusal to pay the full amount. However, legal experts insist that no provocation justifies physical violence.
The spa owner released a brief statement expressing regret over the incident.
“We deeply regret what happened and extend our apologies to the customer. The accused masseuse has been suspended with immediate effect. We will cooperate fully with the police investigation,” the statement said.
However, critics argue that suspending the masseuse is not enough and that the spa should face strict regulatory action.
Mumbai Police have said they will continue to record statements from witnesses, analyze the viral video, and conduct further investigations.

Authorities are also examining whether the spa violated any labor laws, consumer protection laws, or licensing regulations.
The victim is undergoing medical examination and psychological counseling, according to sources.
Police have assured that strict action will be taken to ensure justice.
