Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday told the Lok Sabha that over 100 terrorists were killed in 22 mins on 1st night of Operation Sindoor conducted by the India’s military in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking during a debate on Operation Sindoor, Singh said the Armed Forces launched precision strikes on nine terrorist infrastructure sites immediately after the incident.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday told the Lok Sabha that the Indian military had informed its Pakistani counterpart soon after carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure across the border.
“Indian DGMO informed the Pakistani DGMO after India’s strikes on terrorist camps and said that we did not want to escalate things,” Singh said during a discussion on Operation Sindoor.

During the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that the Indian Armed Forces carried out precise retaliatory strikes targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites following the Pahalgam terror attack.

“After the Pahalgam attack, our Armed Forces took swift action and struck with precision. Nine terrorist infrastructure sites were hit, in which more than 100 terrorists, their trainers, and handlers were targeted,” Singh told the House.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday opened the debate on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha. “I pay tributes to the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the nation. Operation Sindoor is a mark of India’s sovereignty,” Singh said in his opening remarks.
After repeated adjournments, Lok Sabha on Monday began discussion on the much-awaited Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh opening the debate in the Lower House.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and its allies, accusing them of deliberately avoiding a discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha and disrespecting the achievements of India’s armed forces.
“The attitude of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha today clearly proves that the Congress party and their allied Opposition parties are shying away from discussing the success of Operation Sindoor and the pride that our soldiers and armed forces have brought to India,” Goyal said.
Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh on Monday criticised the opposition parties for disrupting proceedings in Parliament just as the discussions on Operation Sindoor were about to begin.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Singh said, “The Opposition was continuously demanding a discussion on Operation Sindoor. The government is not the one to shy away from any discussion. The government is ready for every discussion. But when the discussion was going to start, you were not letting it proceed? You are creating a ruckus”.
Amid persistent opposition protests, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House till 2 pm on Monday — the third such adjournment in a single day.
As the Lok Sabha prepares for the crucial discussion on Operation Sindoor, a comprehensive list of speakers from both the ruling BJP and opposition parties has been finalised. From the government’s side, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the charge, followed by senior BJP leaders including Baijayant Panda, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, Tejaswi Surya, Sanjay Jaiswal, Anurag Thakur, and Kamaljeet Sehrawat.
Representing the Congress party in the debate will be Gaurav Gogoi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Deepender Hooda, Praniti Shinde, Saptagiri Ulaka, and Bijendra Ola. The Congress is expected to strongly challenge the government’s narrative on the controversial operation.
Other prominent speakers from across the political spectrum include Lavu Srikrishna and Harish Balyogi of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP); Ramashankar Rajbhar and Chhotelal from the Samajwadi Party (SP); Kalyan Banerjee and Sayoni Ghosh of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC); K Francis George of the Kerala Congress; and DMK leaders A Raja and Kanimozhi. The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) will be represented by Amar Kale and Supriya Sule.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed yet another day of disruptions on Monday, stalling the much-anticipated discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha. Speaker Om Birla has adjourned the Lower House proceedings till 1 pm, within minutes after it resumed at 12 pm. Rajya Sabha proceedings were also adjourned till 2 pm amid Opposition uproar over various issues.
Despite being listed for debate, proceedings could not begin as opposition MPs raised slogans and protested over a range of issues, including the Election Commission’s voter list revision in Bihar, the recent Pahalgam terror attack, and the government’s handling of internal security.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament resumed on Monday afternoon after disruptions earlier in the day forced adjournments in both Houses. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to open the much-anticipated debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha shortly. The Rajya Sabha has also resumed its proceedings.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is expected to speak at around 7.30 pm today as part of much-awaited debate on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha. Sources also indicated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to initiate the discussion in the Lok Sabha tomorrow.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the Lower House at the conclusion of the debate. His remarks will likely serve as the government’s final response to the issues raised during the proceedings.
The Congress Party in Parliament has named six of its MPs to participate in the special discussion on “India’s strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The letter, signed by Chief Whip K Suresh and dated July 28, lists the following members.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi, staged a protest in the Parliament complex on Monday, demanding the rollback of the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
Ahead of the day’s proceedings, senior opposition figures — Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Akhilesh Yadav, Derek O’Brien, Kanimozhi, A Raja and others — gathered at the Makar Dwar of Parliament, holding a banner that read “SIR – Attack on Democracy”. This marked their fifth consecutive day of protest on the issue.
