The incident occurred at a shop named ‘Chicken Point‘. In the viral video, a worker is seen preparing rotis in a tandoor after spitting on them. A person present at the spot recorded the act, and the clip quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering public outrage.

Following the video’s circulation, Suryabali Maurya, ACP Kavinagar, said that on January 8, 2026, a video came to the notice of Vardhmanpuram outpost under Madhuban Bapudham police station, in which a shop worker was seen allegedly spitting while making rotis. After examining the video, the allegations appeared to be prima facie true.

He said the police immediately arrested the accused worker, identified as Javed Ansari. Authorities have registered a case against him under relevant sections of law and initiated necessary legal proceedings.

Notably, Ghaziabad has witnessed several similar incidents in the past.

Earlier, a shopkeeper was thrashed by angry locals in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad for allegedly serving fruit juices mixed with urine to customers. The police later arrested Aamir Khan, owner of Khushi Juice Corner, and detained his minor assistant.

Local residents have demanded strict action by the administration to prevent such acts and ensure food safety.
