RJD Leader Breaks Down, Tears Kurta Outside Lalu Prasad’s Home After Poll Ticket Denial — Viral Video Gets 50K+ Views

An RJD leader was seen breaking down and tearing his kurta outside Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence after being denied a poll ticket for the Bihar elections

A dramatic scene unfolded today outside the residence of Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, where Madan Shah, a senior RJD leader and ticket aspirant from the Madhuban Assembly constituency, broke down in an emotional outburst after being denied a party ticket.

In a public display of anger and despair, Madan Shah tore his kurta, lay down on the road, and cried loudly in front of the party leader’s house. The dramatic protest quickly drew a crowd, leading to temporary chaos outside the residence.

The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media platforms, sparking debate over alleged corruption in ticket distribution.

Shah alleged that his candidature was rejected after he refused to pay money for the ticket. In a direct accusation, he named Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, claiming that the MP had “brokered” the ticket for cash and that the Madhuban seat was instead handed over to Dr Santosh Kushwaha.

“The party has ignored honest and hardworking workers like me. They are now prioritising those with deep pockets,” Shah said through tears, visibly shaken.

In another video, Shah is seen trying to chase after Lalu Prasad Yadav’s car as he arrives at his residence in Patna.

In a dramatic and emotional incident, an RJD leader was seen breaking down and tearing his kurta outside the residence of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav after being denied a poll ticket for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections 2025. The protest, which was captured on video, has gone viral on social media, amassing over 50,000 views within hours and igniting discussions about ticket allocations within the party.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, as the RJD leader, whose name has been withheld, arrived at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence in Patna to voice his disappointment over being overlooked for the party’s candidate list. Eyewitnesses reported that the leader, visibly distressed, began tearing his kurta in frustration, pleading with party officials and onlookers about his loyalty and contributions to the party.

The scene quickly drew attention from local media and supporters. Many party workers tried to console the leader, but the emotional intensity of the moment highlighted the deep sense of betrayal and frustration felt by grassroots workers when denied tickets.

The video of the protest was widely circulated on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, drawing over 50,000 views within a few hours. Netizens expressed mixed reactions, with some sympathizing with the leader for his loyalty to the party, while others criticized the public display as unnecessary and disruptive.

Political analysts note that such incidents underscore the high stakes involved in party ticket distribution. In states like Bihar, where electoral margins can be narrow, the selection of candidates often triggers intense competition, leading to emotional reactions from leaders and workers alike.

RJD has been preparing its candidate list carefully for the upcoming elections, balancing veteran leaders, influential local faces, and strategic constituencies. The denial of a ticket to this particular leader appears to be part of the party’s broader strategy to maximize electoral gains, even if it means sidelining long-serving members.

Party insiders suggested that internal discussions and constituency-level calculations were the primary reasons behind the denial. However, the public nature of the protest has placed additional pressure on party leadership to address grievances and maintain morale among workers.

While loyalty and emotional commitment are highly valued in political parties, public protests like these can create mixed perceptions among voters. Analysts argue that although the protest highlights the dedication of party workers, it may also signal internal discord, which opposition parties could exploit during the election campaign.

The RJD leadership has not yet officially commented on the incident. However, sources indicate that senior leaders are likely to meet the aggrieved worker privately to address his concerns and prevent further public demonstrations.
