Parliament Security Breach 2025: Intruder Scales 15-Foot Wall, Nabbed by Guards — Intense Interrogation Underway
An intruder scaled a wall with a ladder and entered the Parliament premises around 6:30 am on Thursday before being caught by security near Garud Dwar
A major security breach was reported at Parliament on Friday morning after an intruder entered the premises by scaling a wall with the help of a ladder.
According to sources, the incident took place around 6:30 am when the man climbed the wall from the Rail Bhavan side and managed to reach up to the Garud Dwar of the new Parliament building. Security personnel deployed inside the complex caught the intruder immediately and detained him for questioning.
Sources said the intruder is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and works at a shop in Gujarat. He appeared mentally disturbed at the time of his detention. During questioning, he told officials that he was planning to go home and had even gone to the railway station before reaching Parliament, but could not board a train. He then went to Parliament instead.

The local police came to know about the incident through media reports. Officials said the Parliament Security will hand over the intruder to the local police for questioning after completing their own interrogation.
At present, the Parliament Security Wing, CISF, IB and central agencies are questioning him.
No Member of Parliament was present at the time of the security breach as the breach happened just a day after the Monsoon session of Parliament was adjourned sine die.
In a dramatic security incident that has raised fresh questions about the safety of India’s most sensitive institution, an intruder scaled the 15-foot-high wall of the Indian Parliament complex in New Delhi on Friday before being swiftly apprehended by security forces. The breach occurred during the morning hours, triggering high alert across the capital and sending shockwaves through the political community.
According to initial reports, the unidentified individual managed to climb over the Parliament boundary wall undetected, taking advantage of a blind spot in surveillance. However, the Quick Response Team (QRT) deployed at the complex reacted within seconds, overpowering the man before he could reach the inner premises. Eyewitnesses described the intruder as being in his mid-30s and carrying no weapons at the time of capture.
Authorities confirmed that the individual is currently being interrogated by intelligence and security agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, to determine his motive. Investigators are probing whether this was a lone act of trespass, a protest stunt, or part of a larger conspiracy.

This incident comes at a sensitive time when Parliament has been strengthening its multi-layered security protocols, especially after the December 2023 security scare when protestors managed to release smoke canisters inside the Lok Sabha. Following that breach, the Parliamentary Security Review Committee had recommended the installation of more CCTV cameras, AI-powered surveillance, and biometric-based entry checks.
Despite these measures, the latest breach highlights potential gaps in perimeter security. Sources suggest that the intruder may have exploited a low-visibility section of the wall, bypassing external patrols. The Parliament security apparatus, which includes the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Delhi Police, and Intelligence Bureau (IB), has now ordered an urgent internal audit to plug vulnerabilities.
The security breach immediately sparked political uproar, with several Members of Parliament (MPs) demanding a high-level inquiry. Opposition leaders slammed the government, questioning how an individual could reach so close to the heart of Indian democracy despite heavy fortification.
A senior opposition MP commented, “If someone can scale Parliament’s walls so easily, what does this say about the safety of lawmakers inside? The government must take accountability.”
On the other hand, ruling party members assured the nation that Parliament remains fully secure and praised the swift response of security personnel who neutralized the threat before any harm could occur.
Security sources confirmed that the man is being questioned for possible links to extremist groups, political activism, or psychological instability. Investigators are also examining his digital footprint, phone records, and past movements to trace any suspicious connections.
If found guilty of criminal trespass and endangering national security, the intruder could face charges under Sections 447, 448, and 452 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with possible action under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), depending on the outcome of the probe.
This shocking event has reignited debate over Parliament’s security preparedness in the age of unpredictable threats. Experts argue that while internal security has been upgraded, outer perimeter protection remains the weak link. Calls are growing for the deployment of motion sensors, infrared scanning, and advanced drone surveillance to prevent future breaches.
For now, the intruder remains in custody, and further details about his identity and motives are expected after an official press briefing by the Delhi Police.
